BETTER FITNESS, LESS EFFORT

Blood Flow Restriction training enhances athletic recovery, turbocharges your workouts & boosts your rehabilitation.

Blood Flow Restriction

Blood flow restricted (BFR) exercise involves the use of a device to produce brief and intermittent restriction of blood flow in the venous system. Typically applied to the extremities ... an individual exercises with the specialized tourniquet in place using significantly lighter weight and higher repetitions.

Research has shown activation of Type II muscle fibres resutling in hypertrophy and improvements in strength otherwise traditionally obtained only by lifting heavy loads. This has a number of benefits including a significantly reduced incidence of injury and reduced loading of the surrounding joints and tissues.

In this way BFR is uniquely superior in many rehabilitation settings as well as in use with older populations. More targeted applications are also used by elite athletes to enhance their training. Personal units and more information can be found here https://kaatsu.ca/
